FRAUENWEGE (WOMEN’S WAYS) together with Gera Kessler

“Everything that has been achieved thus far—the use of fire, living in communities, and the shaping of art, spirituality and daily life—all this was begun by our female ancestors. We stand in a mighty tradition.”

The shamanic worldview, which remains valid and vital in many parts of the world, is closely connected with the roots of human conscious and the genesis of culture. Traditional and still-living shamanic traditions differ in the practices they use, but within the particular traditions of their communities, they are all based on three essential features:

  • The knowledge that we human beings and the natural world which surrounds us are one
  • The use of shamanic healing practices when there are injuries or when this connection is lost
  • The community is part of the connection with nature and thus an essential part of the healing event

When we explore these three components of the developmental history of the human spirit, we come into contact with the beginnings of human being per se: the genesis of self-awareness which is able to conceive itself as an entity surrounded by nature and other beings, which feels the resulting separation, and which seeks to restore this connectedness.
